Exploring Textures and the Human Body
2025 / NYLON
Attention to Detail
I have a philosophy regarding animation, and I believe many people share this feeling: no matter where you pause a film or animation, the shot should always look perfectly composed and carry the impact of a painting.
ROLE
Concept, motion design, art direction
TOOLS
Blender, Octane, Marvelous Designer, Touch Designer, Photoshop
RESPONSIBILITIES
Visual research, animation, system delivery
SELECTED PROCESS
01 / exploration
This is what I tried to explore with the Nylon project — capturing a fluid moment and making it feel almost frozen in time. The softness of the human body is enveloped by sheets of translucent nylon, like a cocoon.
02 / software
Marvelous Designer was the main tool used in this project. The software has an unpredictable yet beautiful way of simulating cloth. It is precisely within this unpredictability that its true beauty emerges.
03 / colors
I leaned into heavy saturation and contrast. The negative treatment gave me something the warmth of the original render could not. The shapes and the body felt different — colder. This reinforced the feeling of wanting to freeze time.
